Weigh In Day!

 


Another 1.1 pounds gone!  Admittedly, this week's menu has gone out the window.  I realized I had ground pork (it turned out to be Italian sausage) in the fridge that I needed to cook and we ordered out Thursday night.  I did have a grilled chicken salad with the takeout.  The ground pork/Italian sausage was made into eggroll in a bowl.  Honestly, I was disappointed with it.  It could have been cause it was sausage and not pork.  I may try that recipe again at a later date and see if that was the problem.  Tonight we are having ham tetrazzini.  Hubs gets noodles and I am doing mine over spaghetti squash.  Tomorrow we are eating out - Hubs said it was going to be a pancake night which means he's had a rough week.

The crime solving portion of the book, which honestly was the majority of the book, was great.  There was enough creep factor to the crime and the reasoning when you found out who it was that did it and why, but it wasn't so bad that you wanted to put it down.  It just made me mad that I couldn't have killed the pervy old man myself. This is definitely a series I will continue.  It may also just convert me to an audio book listener....as you may or may not know, my previous attempts at listening have not gone so well.  But this kept my attention pretty well and I loved the voice characterization of Roa...

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. August of Accomplishments

The Oxford definition for ACCOMPLISHMENT is "something that has been achieved successfully".   I am claiming August as the Month of Accomplishments for my massive cross stitch WIP collection.  My plan is to finish some of the WIPs that are close to being finished or that I have had in the WIP pile for a long time.  Here's a look at my stitching spot...Notice the basket on the floor, it is full of WIPs.  Notice the pile on the sofa, it's all WIPs.  I have got to get some of these gone, especially since I LOVE starting new projects. So, am thinking I will work on Calvin and Trixie.  I am sooooo close on this one.  I even bought finishing fabric for it. I think I will try to complete the January SAL from Little House and Country Cottage Stitching Group on Facebook.  The theme was winter.  I bought finishing fabric for this too.
