Menu Plan for Week of April 24, 2023

Hello friends!  Last week was a good one for the scale.  I was down 2.3 pounds!  Hubs worked all weekend but we still managed to go out on Saturday.  We had a breakfast date at McDonalds.  Then he surprised me and came home early Saturday evening and we went eat at Saltgrass Steakhouse.  If you have one of these close to you, definitely go give them a try.  We were very happy with our meals.  The Range Rattlers appetizer was DELICIOUS!  Totally not on plan, but as I've said before, sometimes I am going to make decisions that are not on plan and that's ok.  The Range Rattlers were jalepenos stuffed with cheese and a shrimp, them battered and fried.  They were served with Ranch dressing.  I ordered a Filet Mignon and grilled shrimp with a salad and roasted green beans.  Very good.

So, onto the menu plan for this week.  I'm trying to use up the stuff in the freezer here because this job is wrapping up and I don't want to have to move a bunch of food.  However, I will have food to move from both the fridge and pantry.  At least I won't have to worry if it defrosts.  I kind of hope I get a firm date on leaving Odessa because then I could get a place in Lafayette and the food can go there rather than all the way home to Alabama and then back to Louisiana.  Anyway, here's the plan for this week....

Monday - BBQ cheddar meatloaf with green beans and a salad

Tuesday - flounder piccata, steamed broccoli and cauliflower

Wednesday - air fryer chicken, mashed potatoes (mashed cauliflower for me) and roasted mushrooms

Thursday - shrimp and cauliflower grits from the Optavia app

Friday - cheesy taco vegetable skillet, also from the Optavia app via Pinterest

Until Next Time...

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

A Lady Awakened by Cecilia Grant

I won an ARC of this on Goodreads - thank you so much!  I enjoyed it so much! My favorite romances are of the Regency period and this is that time period.  But that is where all similarities to others end.  Mrs. Russell (I just can't bring myself to call her Martha LOL) is a new widow who comes to realize she will loose her home and her dowry if she doesn't produce a male heir.  The kicker to this is that the late Mr. Russell's brother is a total jerk-face who has taken advantage of women in their home when he lived there as a young man.  Enter Mr. Theo Mirkwood...the rogue who has been sent to the country as a punishment by his father.  Mrs. Russell employs Mr. Mirkwood as her "stud" for a month so she can conceive a child and claim the inheritance.   Mrs. Russell believes she can't take any pleasure from their daily (later it becomes nightly) encounters.  Theo eventually changes her mind.  Martha is so set on her plan to thwart her late hus

So Harley has this interview to do

for church. She's suppose to interview one of the "older" members of the church about their Christmas memories and she'll have a presentation to do in front of the whole church at one of our Christmas programs. That is all fine and dandy, but she's in 3rd grade. Can you see her trying to take notes for when they answer her question of "what is your most memorable Christmas memory?" There is no way she can write even half way fast enough to get it down. I understand what they're trying to do and it's great! But what were they thinking asking a 3rd grader to do it? We have tons of 6th graders...let them do it. I'm tempted not to even bring her tonight for it. What should I do?
