Weekly Menu for April 10, 2023

I meant to post this yesterday but it was Easter and Hubs and I decided to have a lazy day in bed.  It's been a hot minute since we've done that.  I read, he watched several movies.  We got up to walk the dog a couple times, but otherwise, we were in bed.  We even ordered Door Dash for dinner and had a picnic in bed.

Saturday was weigh in day and I am down 2.6 pounds from the previous week!  YAY ME!  I'm so proud of myself.  So, to keep up with the pounds going down I'm here today with my menu for this week.

Monday - We're having our Easter dinner today since we didn't cook yesterday.  Ham, mashed potatoes for Hubs, mashed cauliflower for me, a deviled egg pasta salad and green beans
Tuesday - Philly Cheesesteak Skillet
Wednesday -Frittata.  I'm going to use some of the leftover ham and throw in some tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms.
Thursday -  Mardi Gras chicken and shrimp. I got this recipe off Stacey Hawkins website.  She's got lots of Lean & Green recipes.
Friday - Beef and mushrooms in the slow cooker.

I normally menu plan on the weekend.  If any of these are SUPER DUPER GOOD, I'll come back and share the recipe.

Until next time....

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

A Lady Awakened by Cecilia Grant

I won an ARC of this on Goodreads - thank you so much!  I enjoyed it so much! My favorite romances are of the Regency period and this is that time period.  But that is where all similarities to others end.  Mrs. Russell (I just can't bring myself to call her Martha LOL) is a new widow who comes to realize she will loose her home and her dowry if she doesn't produce a male heir.  The kicker to this is that the late Mr. Russell's brother is a total jerk-face who has taken advantage of women in their home when he lived there as a young man.  Enter Mr. Theo Mirkwood...the rogue who has been sent to the country as a punishment by his father.  Mrs. Russell employs Mr. Mirkwood as her "stud" for a month so she can conceive a child and claim the inheritance.   Mrs. Russell believes she can't take any pleasure from their daily (later it becomes nightly) encounters.  Theo eventually changes her mind.  Martha is so set on her plan to thwart her late hus

So Harley has this interview to do

for church. She's suppose to interview one of the "older" members of the church about their Christmas memories and she'll have a presentation to do in front of the whole church at one of our Christmas programs. That is all fine and dandy, but she's in 3rd grade. Can you see her trying to take notes for when they answer her question of "what is your most memorable Christmas memory?" There is no way she can write even half way fast enough to get it down. I understand what they're trying to do and it's great! But what were they thinking asking a 3rd grader to do it? We have tons of 6th graders...let them do it. I'm tempted not to even bring her tonight for it. What should I do?
