Yeah, well...

School work has caught up with me. If you didn't know, I'm a procrastinator by nature. And I have put off typing up field reports for my field observations I did LAST month. And now they're due by Monday. Not to mention that I have writing samples and a handwriting sample due Monday. I also have to do a thematic unit for the 28th. Thankfully I have the thematic unit half done already...just got to type it. I'm not going to be able to move my fingers by the time I finish typing all this stuff. And to further complicate things, we get new assignments starting Monday LOL I may not have a brain left come December.

On a happier note, my house is prepared for the Christmas tree. The girls noticed that one of our neighbors put theirs up on Veteran's Day and they are now chomping at the bit to put ours up. I think Jenna is going to put our lights up this weekend. She has nothing better to do since she's still grounded. She does the lights on the porch anyways. I've had to rearrange my living room to make room for the giant tree we have. Ours is 9 foot tall and it's big! We usually put it up in the dining room, but with the new dining room table, it won't fit. And we've gotten use to eating at a table again ROFLOL I may have Ashley clean the mantle off so we can put my village there. Not sure what we're going to do with stockings since we got a big screen last Christmas and it covers most of the mantle so hanging them there and them being seen is not an option. We'll just have to see what we're doing.

My Reading Habits

I am an avid book reader.  I have even been known to read a good bit of fanfiction (I'm a Twifan...yes, I admit that in public).  Since joining Goodreads I've come to love to do reading challenges.  In case you're like my best friend and have no clue what that might be, let me explain.  A reading challenge can be as simple as setting a reading goal for the year.  Or it can be as complex as one I'm doing next year that is an Artist Color Wheel Challenge - find book covers that are mainly the colors on the color wheel and are the shades of the grey scale. Anyway, I read Book Chick City's blog  http://www.bookchickcity.com/  and they're doing a Mystery/Suspense reading challenge that I'm going to join in on next year.  I'm going to see if I can read 12 mystery/suspense books.  You may be thinking that that isn't a whole lot of books for someone who claims to be an avid reader; and you're right, it's not BUT I normally don't read myste...

Halloween's around the corner

So, I've been working on Hallween designs this week. What you see in the picture is a sneek peek of a set I'm listing next week for Bow*nified Designs Spooky Chic Halloween launch. I've got a OOAK skirt set almost finished and another set ready to cut out. Who'd have thought that I'd be working on Halloween stuff the very week the girls go back to school. I surely didn't. But I feel the need to keep up with what is selling :) And speaking of the girls going back to school this week...I've already subbed for 3 days! It's the first FULL week of school and teachers are missing days. CRAZY! However, I mustn't complain. This at least gets me in the classroom and schools so teachers won't forget me and the principals won't forget me so they can give me a job ;0)

Still Standing by Kristen Ashley

I have a love/hate relationship with Kristen Ashley's books.  I've been reading her stuff since 2012.  Some of them, I have absolutely LOVED - The Gamble, I am looking at you.  Some I have quit reading without even making it to the half way point - the Honey series *shivers* just NO.  I have felt that the last few books I have read/attempted to read by her just haven't been in her style.  Kristen Ashley is wordy and descriptive.  Her characters are some times so aggravating, but at the same time you love them.  Well, with Still Standing I think she has gone back to that type of writing that her followers all across the world fell in love with. Yes, Clara was a bit trying at times.  She seemed a bit lost, and with good reason.  But she had such a good heart.  And let's not forget Buck and his alpha-ness.  But under that jerk he was sweet and loyal.  I loved that he spoke in full sentences - if you are a KA reader, you TOT...
