Date Night :)

For the last few months hubby and I have had a date night every Friday night. You know, with 5 kids, it's hard to get quality adult alone time LOL But then he got some overtime and had to start working on Saturday's and our Friday night dates had to be canceled.
He's made up for the canceled ones tonight. We went to dinner at the one "nice" resturant we have in town. I had herb crusted tilapia, he had a ribeye. We chatted, we looked longingly into each others eyes (not really). We went to Home Depot after so I could look at dryers while we killed time before THE PLAY started. Yep, I said PLAY! Can you believe, he took me to a real live play?!

We went to the local community college...yep, we have those here in Alabama, and saw their production of Noises Off. In case you're not familiar with it, it's a play within a play. Totally hilarious! You watch the same play 3 times from different view points. One was even from "backstage"! We laughed, we held hands, we enjoyed ourselves like adults and never once thought about the kids :)

Note to self, we must do this more often :)

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

A Lady Awakened by Cecilia Grant

I won an ARC of this on Goodreads - thank you so much!  I enjoyed it so much! My favorite romances are of the Regency period and this is that time period.  But that is where all similarities to others end.  Mrs. Russell (I just can't bring myself to call her Martha LOL) is a new widow who comes to realize she will loose her home and her dowry if she doesn't produce a male heir.  The kicker to this is that the late Mr. Russell's brother is a total jerk-face who has taken advantage of women in their home when he lived there as a young man.  Enter Mr. Theo Mirkwood...the rogue who has been sent to the country as a punishment by his father.  Mrs. Russell employs Mr. Mirkwood as her "stud" for a month so she can conceive a child and claim the inheritance.   Mrs. Russell believes she can't take any pleasure from their daily (later it becomes nightly) encounters.  Theo eventually changes her mind.  Martha is so set on her plan to thwart her late hus

So Harley has this interview to do

for church. She's suppose to interview one of the "older" members of the church about their Christmas memories and she'll have a presentation to do in front of the whole church at one of our Christmas programs. That is all fine and dandy, but she's in 3rd grade. Can you see her trying to take notes for when they answer her question of "what is your most memorable Christmas memory?" There is no way she can write even half way fast enough to get it down. I understand what they're trying to do and it's great! But what were they thinking asking a 3rd grader to do it? We have tons of 6th graders...let them do it. I'm tempted not to even bring her tonight for it. What should I do?
