I know, I know...

I missed blogging yesterday. SORRY! I went to cheer competition with Lauren in Huntsville. Then, we went with most of the other cheerleaders and mom's to eat and THEN shopping. Nothinig like a bunch of 7th grade cheerleaders shopping in the mall :) We had a great time but I was simply exhausted when I got home. I haven't uploaded the pics yet. I'll share when I get them on here.

In the mean time, I found this on that super fun blog that I read often. I get 10 extra entries for reposting it here. Soooo, here it is :)

I am issuing a challenge....
...to all of my readers- Here are the details: 1) Leave a comment here & if you are not a blogger customer, email me (jen@fabricbliss.com) your contact info as well. This is how you'll enter PART I. 2) I will randomly pick 5 comments on Monday, November 10th. 3)Said commenters will receive a grab bag of various fabric and notions from me next week. 4)These commenters will have until the end of November to create something using at least 4 inches of each piece of fabric or notions from said grab bag to create something apparel -ish- including a bag or a shirt or a dress or an apron. You can add some of your own fabric as well, but the majority needs to be mostly stuff I sent you. 5) Creaters will then email me pics of said creations and I will post them on my blog, along with a link to your webstore. You all will then be able to vote on said creations. The winning creation will win a $100 gift certificate to FabricBliss.com You can receive an additional 10 entries to the initial part of the challenge by reposting this on your blog. Just email me the link after you post it. And yes. The grab bag will include some CRAZY fabric combinations. But I just know you'll make it work :) Just call me Tim.

My Reading Habits

I am an avid book reader.  I have even been known to read a good bit of fanfiction (I'm a Twifan...yes, I admit that in public).  Since joining Goodreads I've come to love to do reading challenges.  In case you're like my best friend and have no clue what that might be, let me explain.  A reading challenge can be as simple as setting a reading goal for the year.  Or it can be as complex as one I'm doing next year that is an Artist Color Wheel Challenge - find book covers that are mainly the colors on the color wheel and are the shades of the grey scale. Anyway, I read Book Chick City's blog  http://www.bookchickcity.com/  and they're doing a Mystery/Suspense reading challenge that I'm going to join in on next year.  I'm going to see if I can read 12 mystery/suspense books.  You may be thinking that that isn't a whole lot of books for someone who claims to be an avid reader; and you're right, it's not BUT I normally don't read myste...

Crafty Round Up for mid-October

Hi friends!!  I figured I needed to come share my sewing/stitching/quilting updates with you because it's been a while.  So, let's get started... First up is quilty goodness.  And it comes with a story.  Christmas 2021 I bought myself a block of the month subscription from Fig Tree Fabrics for her Manchester by the Sea Mystery BOM program.  If you are not familiar with Joanna and Fig Tree Fabrics, go check her out.  Her stuff is GORGEOUS!!!  I've bought her fabric forever for clothes for the girls.  Joanna does the block of the month programs and sends out fabric and patterns each month and you end up with a beautiful sampler quilt.  Manchester by the Sea was scheduled for April 2022 thru March 2023.  I got a beautiful envelope of fabric and instructions to make blocks each of those months and did not touch a one of them until we came back from Disney last month.  I'm a member of her BOM group on Facebook and have seen the fin...

Still Standing by Kristen Ashley

I have a love/hate relationship with Kristen Ashley's books.  I've been reading her stuff since 2012.  Some of them, I have absolutely LOVED - The Gamble, I am looking at you.  Some I have quit reading without even making it to the half way point - the Honey series *shivers* just NO.  I have felt that the last few books I have read/attempted to read by her just haven't been in her style.  Kristen Ashley is wordy and descriptive.  Her characters are some times so aggravating, but at the same time you love them.  Well, with Still Standing I think she has gone back to that type of writing that her followers all across the world fell in love with. Yes, Clara was a bit trying at times.  She seemed a bit lost, and with good reason.  But she had such a good heart.  And let's not forget Buck and his alpha-ness.  But under that jerk he was sweet and loyal.  I loved that he spoke in full sentences - if you are a KA reader, you TOT...
