How to Tame a Wild Rogue by Julie Anne Long

I first read Julie Anne Long way back in 2012.  I jumped into her Pennyroyal Green series with book 6, How the Marquess was Won.  And let me just tell you, I fell in love with her writing.  So, when I was given the opportunity to become part of her ARC team I jumped at it.  Julie's latest release is How to Tame a Wild Rogue.  It's part of her Palace of Rogues series.  Book 6 to be precise, and it's my favorite of the series.

It's always fun to come back to a series that has characters that flow in all the books because you get to see them grow and change, even if they're not the main focus of the current story.  In this one, Lorcan and Daphne are the main characters, but lordy!  We get a lot of Angelique, Bolt, Delilah and Capt. Hardy.  And the scenes with them were MAGNIFICENT!!!!  There was this one sequence where all of our couples were not getting along and they all end up elsewhere (I'm trying to be vague to not spoil it for you LOL).  This showed us how much the original 4 have grown and changed and how they love each other.  I smiled like a loon with it.

But I guess I should talk about Lorcan and Daphne since this book focuses on them LOL  They were opposites in so many ways, yet they had a lot in common.  And most importantly, they just wanted to be loved (even if Lorcan didn't realize at first he wanted that).  It was really neat that he was a pirate - I have a thing for pirates ;)  And it was even neater that all the men at the Grand Palace on the Thames knew Lorcan before he got there.  Did they all like him?  I'm not going to say, you need to read it to find out.

As I said, this was my favorite in this series.  I can't imagine Julie could top this for me.  Unless it's with a book for Dot. Or Mr. Delacourte LOL  Go find a copy of this and enjoy it!

Until next time...

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

So Harley has this interview to do

for church. She's suppose to interview one of the "older" members of the church about their Christmas memories and she'll have a presentation to do in front of the whole church at one of our Christmas programs. That is all fine and dandy, but she's in 3rd grade. Can you see her trying to take notes for when they answer her question of "what is your most memorable Christmas memory?" There is no way she can write even half way fast enough to get it down. I understand what they're trying to do and it's great! But what were they thinking asking a 3rd grader to do it? We have tons of 6th graders...let them do it. I'm tempted not to even bring her tonight for it. What should I do?

WIP Wednesday...on Thursday

I started this post yesterday. Several times.  But, I got busy doing other stuff and this got pushed to the side.  I finally have a few free minutes today so I figured I would come back to it LOL  Really, I am procrastinating on doing my last case study for the management class I am taking 😉 So, this is titled WIP Wednesday.  I decided I would start sharing my cross stitch WIPs with you.   I started cross stitching MANY years ago.  I've done pieces and given them as birthday, graduation and wedding gifts.  I made the whole family matching Christmas stockings.  Even got two of the three grandbabies stockings made after a long break from cross stitch while I sewed children's clothes and went to school.  But, I picked cross stitch back up a couple of years ago and quickly remembered why I love it so much.  It's almost mindless work for me.  It keeps my attention just enough to make ignore all else, but not enough thought has to b...
