stitching this week...and other things

This has been the week from Planet Crapola. Seriously. Work was chaotic and let's not mention that I worked from home yesterday and today because I have an ear and sinus infection with a migraine on top of it. Thankfully the headache is gone today but I honestly think I'm having an allergic reaction to either the antibiotics (which I have taken before) or one of the two shots I got. My arms hurt and feel like they are on fire. My cheeks too. I am also almost two weeks behind on my next class for my MBA. And I'm being a big whiney butt. Sorry.

So, with that paragraph explaining all my woes, you can imagine I got very little stitching done this week. The pictures look like I have stitched up a storm, but it's been a while since I shared lol So, let's see what I've done.

This is where I am on the pig wedding gift. It's what I am working on today as a matter of fact. Since taking that picture several hours ago I got the hill started, the pink on the ears and snouts done and finished the blue flower on the left.
This was the stopping point on my Halloween stitch called Calvin and Trixie by Stitching with the Housewives. Almost finished with the left garland.
I'm focusing on this window on the Kringles pattern by Little House Needleworks.  I actually have more done that the picture shows.  I finished that bottom present and did the one on the shelf.
Here's where I am on Pumpkin Cottage by Country Cottage Needleworks.  I think this is my favorite I'm working on this week.

I did some fabric and thread dying this week and LOVE how it turned out! The picture doesn't do it justice. It's a beautiful purpley lavender. I'm going to do Halloween stitching on the fabric...a couple of designs by Stitching with the Housewives.

Well, that's all for now. I'm tired and cranky and I need to go cook some supper.
Until next time...

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

A Lady Awakened by Cecilia Grant

I won an ARC of this on Goodreads - thank you so much!  I enjoyed it so much! My favorite romances are of the Regency period and this is that time period.  But that is where all similarities to others end.  Mrs. Russell (I just can't bring myself to call her Martha LOL) is a new widow who comes to realize she will loose her home and her dowry if she doesn't produce a male heir.  The kicker to this is that the late Mr. Russell's brother is a total jerk-face who has taken advantage of women in their home when he lived there as a young man.  Enter Mr. Theo Mirkwood...the rogue who has been sent to the country as a punishment by his father.  Mrs. Russell employs Mr. Mirkwood as her "stud" for a month so she can conceive a child and claim the inheritance.   Mrs. Russell believes she can't take any pleasure from their daily (later it becomes nightly) encounters.  Theo eventually changes her mind.  Martha is so set on her plan to thwart her late hus

So Harley has this interview to do

for church. She's suppose to interview one of the "older" members of the church about their Christmas memories and she'll have a presentation to do in front of the whole church at one of our Christmas programs. That is all fine and dandy, but she's in 3rd grade. Can you see her trying to take notes for when they answer her question of "what is your most memorable Christmas memory?" There is no way she can write even half way fast enough to get it down. I understand what they're trying to do and it's great! But what were they thinking asking a 3rd grader to do it? We have tons of 6th graders...let them do it. I'm tempted not to even bring her tonight for it. What should I do?
