Long Time No See

Hi there!  It's been a hot minute since I've visited with you.  Let me catch you up on what's been going on.

I think the last time I was here was back in October.  That would totally make sense because I got a new full time job at the end of October that had me working 50 hours a week.  With all that work going on I had little time for anything else.  Good news (or bad, depending on your point of view) is that the job is over and I am back to being a stay at home wife again.  There will be plenty of time to catch up on cross stitch and quilting.  My needles will be happy since my poor sewing machine has not been touched since November!

Once again, I am back to tracking food.  I gained back 10 pounds while working.  My body hurts again and I don't want to ache.  So, I am taking it day by day.  Positive thinking. Good food choices.  I got this.

The holidays came and went.  All the girls are doing good.  Daughter number 2 and her mini moved back home since she's in nursing school and her work hours are less.  Daughter number 5 is in nursing school, at a different school, but she's still working full time.  We have new boyfriends for both The Squirrels and we celebrated anniversaries for Ash and Lo (2 years and 1 year).  Life is good.

Until next time...

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

A Lady Awakened by Cecilia Grant

I won an ARC of this on Goodreads - thank you so much!  I enjoyed it so much! My favorite romances are of the Regency period and this is that time period.  But that is where all similarities to others end.  Mrs. Russell (I just can't bring myself to call her Martha LOL) is a new widow who comes to realize she will loose her home and her dowry if she doesn't produce a male heir.  The kicker to this is that the late Mr. Russell's brother is a total jerk-face who has taken advantage of women in their home when he lived there as a young man.  Enter Mr. Theo Mirkwood...the rogue who has been sent to the country as a punishment by his father.  Mrs. Russell employs Mr. Mirkwood as her "stud" for a month so she can conceive a child and claim the inheritance.   Mrs. Russell believes she can't take any pleasure from their daily (later it becomes nightly) encounters.  Theo eventually changes her mind.  Martha is so set on her plan to thwart her late hus

So Harley has this interview to do

for church. She's suppose to interview one of the "older" members of the church about their Christmas memories and she'll have a presentation to do in front of the whole church at one of our Christmas programs. That is all fine and dandy, but she's in 3rd grade. Can you see her trying to take notes for when they answer her question of "what is your most memorable Christmas memory?" There is no way she can write even half way fast enough to get it down. I understand what they're trying to do and it's great! But what were they thinking asking a 3rd grader to do it? We have tons of 6th graders...let them do it. I'm tempted not to even bring her tonight for it. What should I do?
