Weekly Meal Plan for July 17, 2023

Happy Monday, friends!  I'm back with a meal plan for the week.

Let me give you a little update on where my mind is at.  I've postponed my Optavia order.  In fact, I haven't had one since May.  While I like the ease of their plan, I do not want to have to buy their food for the rest of my life.  And I see people who are in maintenance talking about how they jump back on 5 & 1 and have fuelings every so often.  Yes, I know that I will have to watch what I eat and semi-diet if I want to maintain what I lost, but I don't want to have to do it with food that costs $25 a box for 7 servings.  I've been doing some research and found a program called Weight Loss with Real Food that uses Optavia's macros and follows that formula but figures out what they can eat with real food that fits it.  That sounds great, but it's a LOT of work.  More work than I am willing to do.  I am tired of pouring over recipes and counting macros and having to micromanage.  As I was looking into the WLwRF program, I read a couple of Dirty, Lazy Keto books by Stephanie Laska.  I really like her thoughts on keto.  Strict keto to me sounds like WLwRF and lots of macro counting and calculations.  The idea of eating low carb and limiting it to between 20-50 a day and ONLY counting carbs is appealing to me.  So, I'm thinking that I am going to lean that way.  I was already doing low carb cause I've cut out most extra carbs in my meals anyway (I miss bread). Yesterday I did pretty good and had 38 net carbs.  I have no idea what I weigh because I'm in Georgia and the scale is in Alabama.  I'll weigh in on Saturday when I go back home.
The goal is to lose 20 pounds before Disney in two months.  In fact, 2 months to the day.  That goal is 10 pounds per month and is totally doable.  I got this!

So, here's the menu for this week.
Monday - spinach and mushroom smothered chicken
Tuesday - spaghetti (mine will be over spaghetti squash)
Wednesday - shrimp fajita salad
Thursday - French Onion chicken over mashed cauliflower with a salad
Friday - a burger wrapped in lettuce from some fast food place as we travel home

Let me know if you have ever followed any of the above mentioned plans and tell me how it worked for you.  Until next time...

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

A Lady Awakened by Cecilia Grant

I won an ARC of this on Goodreads - thank you so much!  I enjoyed it so much! My favorite romances are of the Regency period and this is that time period.  But that is where all similarities to others end.  Mrs. Russell (I just can't bring myself to call her Martha LOL) is a new widow who comes to realize she will loose her home and her dowry if she doesn't produce a male heir.  The kicker to this is that the late Mr. Russell's brother is a total jerk-face who has taken advantage of women in their home when he lived there as a young man.  Enter Mr. Theo Mirkwood...the rogue who has been sent to the country as a punishment by his father.  Mrs. Russell employs Mr. Mirkwood as her "stud" for a month so she can conceive a child and claim the inheritance.   Mrs. Russell believes she can't take any pleasure from their daily (later it becomes nightly) encounters.  Theo eventually changes her mind.  Martha is so set on her plan to thwart her late hus

So Harley has this interview to do

for church. She's suppose to interview one of the "older" members of the church about their Christmas memories and she'll have a presentation to do in front of the whole church at one of our Christmas programs. That is all fine and dandy, but she's in 3rd grade. Can you see her trying to take notes for when they answer her question of "what is your most memorable Christmas memory?" There is no way she can write even half way fast enough to get it down. I understand what they're trying to do and it's great! But what were they thinking asking a 3rd grader to do it? We have tons of 6th graders...let them do it. I'm tempted not to even bring her tonight for it. What should I do?
