Weekly Menu for May 22, 2023

Hi friends!  I'm back with the menu for this week.  I know, I missed last week's menu.  Last week was rough.  I didn't feel good.  I didn't really menu plan.  I didn't eat enough veggies.  All of that equaled the scale going up on weigh in day. I'm not even upset because of that.  I'm more upset that my sugar was off sooooo much during the week and I felt bad because of it.  When the readings were between 121-127 I had the most horrible headaches.  I had a headache for 4 days.  I told Billy was tired of my head hurting.  Thankfully, yesterday and today I am feeling better and my sugar is around 119.

On to the menu...I really want some turkey.  Like Thanksgiving Day turkey.  So, that is definitely on the menu this week.

Monday - slow cooker chicken teriyaki with riced cauliflower and zucchini and squash

Tuesday - turkey breast and a broccoli casserole

Wednesday -  tacos

Thursday - chicken strips and a Mediterranean salad

Friday - Big Mac Salad

I'm really hoping we will be going home next weekend.  This job is wrapping up and I am missing home.

Until next time...

My Reading Habits

I am an avid book reader.  I have even been known to read a good bit of fanfiction (I'm a Twifan...yes, I admit that in public).  Since joining Goodreads I've come to love to do reading challenges.  In case you're like my best friend and have no clue what that might be, let me explain.  A reading challenge can be as simple as setting a reading goal for the year.  Or it can be as complex as one I'm doing next year that is an Artist Color Wheel Challenge - find book covers that are mainly the colors on the color wheel and are the shades of the grey scale. Anyway, I read Book Chick City's blog  http://www.bookchickcity.com/  and they're doing a Mystery/Suspense reading challenge that I'm going to join in on next year.  I'm going to see if I can read 12 mystery/suspense books.  You may be thinking that that isn't a whole lot of books for someone who claims to be an avid reader; and you're right, it's not BUT I normally don't read myste...

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Halloween's around the corner

So, I've been working on Hallween designs this week. What you see in the picture is a sneek peek of a set I'm listing next week for Bow*nified Designs Spooky Chic Halloween launch. I've got a OOAK skirt set almost finished and another set ready to cut out. Who'd have thought that I'd be working on Halloween stuff the very week the girls go back to school. I surely didn't. But I feel the need to keep up with what is selling :) And speaking of the girls going back to school this week...I've already subbed for 3 days! It's the first FULL week of school and teachers are missing days. CRAZY! However, I mustn't complain. This at least gets me in the classroom and schools so teachers won't forget me and the principals won't forget me so they can give me a job ;0)
