It's official!


Well, I officially know where I'm student teaching and with who. I'm going to be starting off in 5th grade teaching science 4 times a day and 1 class of reading. Then after an amazing 7 and half weeks there, I go to 1st grade and teach everything :) The teacher I'm with for 5th grade is like a teacher master....he has his AA certification, as well as his administration certification AND National Board Certification in science. The 1st grade teacher taught my Lauren 1st grade and I couldn't be happier than to be with her. Her kids always love her and she's super sweet. We've kept in touch through the years and I've even subbed for her several times. Soooo, in exactly 5 months I'll be finished and have a diploma from Athens State University in my hand!

"I don't think I'm in love with you anymore, I know I am."  Oh. my. gah.  I am sooo in love with Roarke! Holy balls!  Why did I wait so long to read this? (actually I listened) It's like an amazing episode of CSI or Law & Order or some show like that....not that I watch tv all that often, but yeah, Lt Eve Dallas would put those shows to shame! The crime solving portion of the book, which honestly was the majority of the book, was great.  There was enough creep factor to the crime and the reasoning when you found out who it was that did it and why, but it wasn't so bad that you wanted to put it down.  It just made me mad that I couldn't have killed the pervy old man myself. This is definitely a series I will continue.  It may also just convert me to an audio book listener....as you may or may not know, my previous attempts at listening have not gone so well.  But this kept my attention pretty well and I loved the voice characterization of Roa...

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. August of Accomplishments

The Oxford definition for ACCOMPLISHMENT is "something that has been achieved successfully".   I am claiming August as the Month of Accomplishments for my massive cross stitch WIP collection.  My plan is to finish some of the WIPs that are close to being finished or that I have had in the WIP pile for a long time.  Here's a look at my stitching spot...Notice the basket on the floor, it is full of WIPs.  Notice the pile on the sofa, it's all WIPs.  I have got to get some of these gone, especially since I LOVE starting new projects. So, am thinking I will work on Calvin and Trixie.  I am sooooo close on this one.  I even bought finishing fabric for it. I think I will try to complete the January SAL from Little House and Country Cottage Stitching Group on Facebook.  The theme was winter.  I bought finishing fabric for this too.
