Summers in Alabama

So, it's been a couple of weeks. Here's how that's been going....

I started, and quit, a fitness challenge that was supposed to run from Memorial Day to July 4.  I did really good the first week and a half.  I swam, I walked, I did some belly dancing and pilates.  Then, my girls got home and we came to Hubs's cabin on the river and I got a little lazy (read that to say I got a LOT lazy).  We did some walking outside but it's so stinking hot and the driveway here is a mountain.

Since this is like being in BFE, phone service is limited and we've gone WAAAAY over the data on the jetpack, so even Youtube exercise videos are out of the question at the moment.  I need to just make myself exercise.  But I'm weak.  And lazy.  And I must do better.

Food wise, I've been doing AH-MAZ-ING!  Sticking to my points, not snacking too much, making healthy choices.  Monday was weigh in day, but alas, no scale here so that will  have to wait till I get back home.

Until next time....

Ready for the rodeo?

Well, after being away from sewing and listing and selling for a couple of years, I've finally got something new up. I used an adorable cowboy and cowgirl fabric from Michael Miller and made this skirt and top that would be perfect for a trip to the rodeo. Or it would be great for western day at school. Feel free to check it out...even bid on it ;0) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Boutique-Rascals-Western-Cowgirl-CBD-FCBM_W0QQitemZ280255354898QQihZ018QQcategoryZ79714QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

So Harley has this interview to do

for church. She's suppose to interview one of the "older" members of the church about their Christmas memories and she'll have a presentation to do in front of the whole church at one of our Christmas programs. That is all fine and dandy, but she's in 3rd grade. Can you see her trying to take notes for when they answer her question of "what is your most memorable Christmas memory?" There is no way she can write even half way fast enough to get it down. I understand what they're trying to do and it's great! But what were they thinking asking a 3rd grader to do it? We have tons of 6th graders...let them do it. I'm tempted not to even bring her tonight for it. What should I do?

WIP Wednesday...on Thursday

I started this post yesterday. Several times.  But, I got busy doing other stuff and this got pushed to the side.  I finally have a few free minutes today so I figured I would come back to it LOL  Really, I am procrastinating on doing my last case study for the management class I am taking 😉 So, this is titled WIP Wednesday.  I decided I would start sharing my cross stitch WIPs with you.   I started cross stitching MANY years ago.  I've done pieces and given them as birthday, graduation and wedding gifts.  I made the whole family matching Christmas stockings.  Even got two of the three grandbabies stockings made after a long break from cross stitch while I sewed children's clothes and went to school.  But, I picked cross stitch back up a couple of years ago and quickly remembered why I love it so much.  It's almost mindless work for me.  It keeps my attention just enough to make ignore all else, but not enough thought has to b...
